With true friends…even water drunk together is sweet enough.
~ Chinese proverb
Today the most populous nation on earth celebrates the Lunar New Year, and Chinese communities around the world ring in the Year of the Horse.
People born under this sign are believed to have many equine qualities.
They are hard-working, cheerful, independent and gregarious, while at times impatient, headstrong and volatile. (I am sure that I possess some of these qualities as a Horse, though won’t commit to what ones they are!)
The New Year is a time for families to come together and celebrate many rich traditions.
Though not a part of my cultural heritage, it reminds me that there is always an opportunity for new beginnings.
While water shared may be sweet, I offer this toast and Limoncello Lemonade:
Best Wishes for Health, Happiness and Prosperity in the Year of the Horse.
- 1 oz gin I like Bombay Sapphire
- 1 oz limoncello
- 1/4 - 1/3 cup lemonade
-
Pour gin and limoncello into glass.
-
Top with lemonade.
