You can adapt this basic recipe in lots of ways and customize the herbs. You can also thin it out with additional buttermilk for a salad dressing.

Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup / 80 ml mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup / 80 ml sour cream
  • 1/3 cup / 80 ml buttermilk
  • 1/2 tablespoon / 7.5 ml lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon / 2.5 ml salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon / 2.5 ml dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon / 2.5 ml dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon / 1.25 ml ground pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon / 1.25 ml garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon / 1.25 ml onion powder
Instructions
  1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl until well mixed. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to give flavors time to blend. Serve with crackers or veggie sticks.

Recipe Notes

Add an additional 1/4 cup / 60 ml buttermilk to make a salad dressing.

 

Add 2 tablespoons / 30 ml crumbled feta and 1/3 cup / 80 ml chopped cucumber for a change.
